Nicky Shaw BSc (Hons), ADipCBM

Nicky graduated in July 2018 with a First Class honours degree in Applied Animal Behaviour from the University of Portsmouth and is a fully qualified canine behaviour consultant and trainer. Nicky gained her Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management in 2015. Nicky’s academic and practical knowledge is driven most broadly by a keen passion for animal welfare, and more specifically the opportunity to provide education and support to owners, promoting communication, cooperation, and pleasurable partnerships with their dogs. A provisional member of the prestigious Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC), Nicky is working towards accreditation as a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CCAB) and as full member of the Pet Professional Guild (PPGBI), is committed to the use of the most up to date, science-based, reward and results based training and care. A keen canine researcher, she is now in the first year of her PhD at the University of Winchester. Nicky lives with her beloved 11 year old Chocolate Labrador, Bailey


Sophi Stewart BSc (Hons)

Sophi has an honours degree in Applied Animal Behaviour from the University of Southampton, is a level 3 City and Guilds Dog Groomer, and certified canine hydrotherapist (NARCH). Sophi has been a part of Dog Hollow for over 20 years, working with veterinary practices in the London area and supporting those starting in the behaviour field. Although she has now retired from consulting, Sophi continues to build the boarding and grooming side of Dog Hollow. A long time supporter of rescue dogs, Sophi is highly regarded by many charities within the field. A big fan of German Shepherds (including her own, Arry), Sophi also has a personal mission with CamVet, raising money for canine cancer having lost her beloved Macgyver to the disease.



Alison Kennedy RVN, DipCABT

Alison Kennedy has worked with dogs for over 20 years. She is a qualified Veterinary Nurse and has worked in a variety of practices in the UK and Australia. She completed her COAPE advanced diploma in companion animal training and behaviour in 2001 (upgraded in 2016). Alison is a member of the CAPBT (the COAPE Association of Pet Behaviourists and Trainers), the ABTC (Animal Behaviour and Training Council), the PPG (Pet Professional Guild) and the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers). Alison has been part of the Dog Hollow team for 14 years, running puppy training classes and offering one to one training and behaviour consultations. Alison also works as part of the COAPE team of Veterinary nurses for Nestle Purina to assess dogs for their pets at work ‘Passpawt’ scheme. Alison is married and has two children, a dog and a cat.
